Aileen Wright English Catholic School has gone above and beyond in a recent fundraiser to support Bishop Belleau School's new playground. AWEC school collected pledges to walk in the Aboriginal Day Awareness Walk on Thursday, June 21st. Andrea Iserhoff, AWEC Principal, challenged the students that if they could raise $1000.00, she would dye her hair blue like the school uniforms. The students rose to the occasion and raised $1000.00 this year, bettering last year's contributions of $800.00.
The student who raised the most money won an IPod shuffle. The winner was Kelsey Thomas who just beat out her cousin Joshua Fortin. Together Kelsey and Joshua raised over $500.00. The other students who participated are: Brayden Westberry, Sara Bernier, Jacob Bernier, Kevin Pronovost, Brady Edwards, Taylor Iserhoff and Jaime Nickoshie. A school mom, Mrs. Susan Johnston, donated her time, expertise and the blue hair dye.AWECS Raises Funds for New BBS Playground

The Grade 3 and 4 class of Aileen Wright remembered veterans this Remembrance Day in a special way.
Students participated in the Postcards for Peace campaign organized by Veterans Affairs Canada.
This was a learning activity in which the students sent messages of thanks to those who served in times of war. The postcards were sent to three Ontario Veterans’ care facilities.
This activity allowed the students to actively remember our aging veterans and the sacrifices they made for our country.
