St. Patrick Catholic School students participated in the Legion Zone K1 track meet at TDSS and finished in several top spots. St. Pat's jumpers finished with two 1st place, three 2nd place, and one 3rd place results.
To put this into perspective, there are six age groups, so therefore there are a possibility of 18 podium finishes. Our jumpers received six of those 18 places. Given that there were 15 other schools there, and that we are smaller than almost all of the other schools, we are thrilled with this achievement.

Today was Family Literacy Day and to celebrate at St. Pats we...
1) Wrote 2 schoolwide stories; One by the primary division and one by the junior division.
2) Posted the stories around the gym for all to see and read.
3) Had students bring in pictures of themselves reading at home and added balloon captions to them.
4) Entered the name of each student who brought in a picture into a draw for a Primary Division Literacy basket and a J/I Literacy basket.
5) In the baskets there were literacy games, books, puzzle books, popcorn, hot chocolate and marshmallows.
6) Held an assembly at the end of the day where parents were invited to join us; had kids wear PJs to simulate reading at bedtime, were given hot chocolate and alphabets to munch on as Mr. Collins read aloud the 2 stories created by the students.
