St. Patrick Catholic School hosted a volleyball tournament on Nov. 27th. Rather than compete with other tournaments, we have decided to take a novel approach this year and enter into a partnership with Ecole Catholique St. Michel from New Liskeard. They will run the 'A' tournament and we will run the 'B' at Northern College in Haileybury. We will be having the same schedule, rules, etc and will be sending out a bilingual entry form together. It's our hope that bigger schools will drop off their A team at St. Michel and bring their B team to our site. CJTT in New Liskeard will be running a story about how 2 schools in different boards are cooperating so well to make sure that all players whether competitive or recreational are getting an opportunity to experience the sport.
A total of 16 teams participated in the volleyball tournament. The furthest came from K.L. and Notre Dame Du Nord, Quebec. Our girls final was won by Ecole St. Michel from New Liskeard. Our boys final was won by the host team of St. Pats. Actually, the runner up was our b team from St. Pats.
