Registration
Enroll your child with NCDSB and join a caring Catholic community dedicated to growth and belonging.
Welcome to Registration!
Welcome to the Northeastern Catholic District School Board. We are excited to partner with you in your child’s educational journey. Whether you are registering your child for Kindergarten, transferring from another school, or new to the area, our Registration section provides all the information and resources you need to get started. We offer safe, inclusive, and faith-filled learning environments where every child is supported to grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.
We serve communities across Northeastern Ontario and are proud to offer high-quality English Catholic education rooted in Gospel values, academic excellence, and a deep sense of belonging. Join our NCDSB family—where we learn, grow, and belong together.
Step 1
Gather Your Documents |
|---|
Proof of child’s legal name and age, such as a birth certificate or passport. A provincial health card is NOT accepted as proof for this purpose. |
Proof of your current residential address. Acceptable documents include a rental or purchase agreement, recent property tax bill, or a current utility bill (hydro, gas, water) or home service bill (phone, tv, internet). Driver’s licenses, bank statements, and cell phone bills are not accepted as proof of address. |
If your child was not born in Canada, you must provide valid documentation to support enrolment without a fee, such as permanent residency approval letters, work permits, or study permits. |
Custody or guardianship documentation. |
Student and parent Catholic Baptismal Certificate, if applicable. |
The most recent report card for students previously enrolled in a school, and the high school transcript for students who have completed any high school programming. |
Step 2
Find Your School |
|---|
Use our School Locator tool to confirm which NCDSB school your child will attend. Simply enter your address and your child’s grade level. |
Step 3
Send Registration Request |
|---|
Complete our online registration request to begin the registration process. If you have any questions, please contact the school you intend to register with for further information and assistance. |
What Happens After you Complete the Registration Process?
The school will receive your information and contact you to set up an in-person admission meeting to continue the registration process. You will need to ensure you bring all the required documentation to the meeting. We encourage you to bring your child with you to the admission meeting so they can meet the school Principal and tour the school.
During the school year, you can expect to hear from the school within 5 days of submitting an Online Registration Request. If you submit the request during the summer months, you can expect communication from the school during the last week of August.
Registrations from Catholic families are prioritized first, and then remaining requests are addressed in the order in which they were received. We recommend completing the registration request by the end of April to ensure that your child can be accommodated in your preferred school and program for the following school year. To avoid disappointment or delay in school start dates, parents are encouraged to submit registration requests as soon as possible.
A Special Request for Catholic Families
As Catholic families, your support is vital to the flourishing and continuation of our Catholic education system. By directing your school support to the Northeastern Catholic District School Board, you are making a meaningful investment in the future of faith-filled learning for all students. This commitment, shared by all Catholic ratepayers, ensures that our schools continue to provide an exceptional educational experience rooted in our Catholic values, benefiting not only those with children currently enrolled but the entire community for generations to come.
Why Change?
It’s important to regularly verify your tax-directed support by either checking your property tax bill or by speaking to your landlord to confirm. By doing so, you make a conscious decision to support the board that best reflects your educational preferences, and you will also be able to vote in that board’s next municipal election for trustees.
In order to change your school board support, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must own or lease a property.
- You may direct school support to only one of the boards operating in your municipality. Note that not all school boards are available in all municipalities.
- If you own or lease more than one property in a school board jurisdiction, all properties must support the same school board.
